{"id":803,"date":"2016-06-22T12:04:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-22T16:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dennisgroup.com\/?page_id=803"},"modified":"2023-10-12T08:38:15","modified_gmt":"2023-10-12T12:38:15","slug":"commissioning-start-up","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dennisgroup.com\/services\/commissioning-start-up\/","title":{"rendered":"CQV &#038; Operational Start-Up Manager Services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3><strong>Achieve a More Vertical Start-Up with CQV<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Planning for success begins at the inception of a project, and adopting a formalized approach to commissioning, qualification and verification (CQV) facilitates a safe, accelerated start-up curve that will be sustained after the project team has disengaged.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A dedicated CQV team consisting of multi-disciplinary representatives from Dennis Group, the owner and other third parties as necessary, will work to establish success criteria.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to traditional commissioning, we also facilitate the required enhanced commissioning activities involving design reviews by a third-party CxA for companies pursuing the mandatory credits under the U.S. Green Building Council&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/dennisgroup.com\/services\/sustainability-leed-certification\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design<\/u> (LEED)<\/a> program.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dennisgroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/bb-plugin\/cache\/iStock-501398774_circleCheck-circle.jpg\" alt=\"iStock-501398774_circleCheck\" title=\"iStock-501398774_circleCheck\" itemprop=\"image\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Commissioning<\/h3>\n                    \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>Short duration runs validate that individual equipment and\/or production systems are meeting design rates and efficiencies<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning, sanitation and safety systems are in place and functioning properly<\/li>\n<li>Corrections are made between&nbsp; runs until performance metrics have been met and signed off on by the client<\/li>\n<li>Led by the CQV team with vendor and operator support<\/li>\n<li>Operator training is a large focus of this phase<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dennisgroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/bb-plugin\/cache\/iStock-520540984_clipboard-circle.jpg\" alt=\"iStock-520540984_clipboard\" title=\"iStock-520540984_clipboard\" itemprop=\"image\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Qualification<\/h3>\n                    \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>Traditional system &#8220;start-up&#8221; where longer duration runs are conducted, and performance is tracked against a pre-defined start-up curve<\/li>\n<li>Operational effects such as product change-overs and sanitation are incorporated<\/li>\n<li>Corrections are made between&nbsp; runs to keep the start-up on track<\/li>\n<li>Operators take a more prominent role in running the system with support from vendors and the CQV team<\/li>\n<li>Qualification continues until the final performance criteria (rates, OEE, etc.) have been met<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dennisgroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/bb-plugin\/cache\/iStock-510969578_ShieldCheck-circle.jpg\" alt=\"iStock-510969578_ShieldCheck\" title=\"iStock-510969578_ShieldCheck\" itemprop=\"image\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Verification<\/h3>\n                    \n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates that the system is capable of running at the defined performance criteria for extended periods of time<\/li>\n<li>Takes into account all impacts on day to day operations such as maintenance, product changeovers, sanitation, shutdowns, start-ups, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Operators run the system with minimal support from vendors or the CQV team<\/li>\n<li>Punch-list and turn-over of documentation is completed<\/li>\n<li>Once all conditions have been verified the CQV process is complete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dennisgroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/iStock-496264156-Controls-Screens.jpg\" alt=\"Work place in the system control room. After training, walk-throughs of each system are typically conducted to reinforce the safety and operator philosophies and provide hands-on interaction with the systems.<\/p>\n<p>We also leverage our <a href=\"https:\/\/dennisgroup.com\/services\/modeling-simulation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">modeling and emulation <\/a>capabilities for training prior to commissioning.
